Taking a job in another country is a life-changing step. Please read this page before you quit your job, spend savings, pay for flights or lodge a visa application. It states honestly how far you can rely on what we publish.

1. Information only, not advice

Everything published on JobsAbroad Zimbabwe, meaning guides, articles, job pages and videos, is general information. None of it is immigration advice, legal advice or financial advice, and it is aimed at a wide audience rather than at your own situation.

Your options hinge on matters we cannot see: your occupation, age, qualifications, skills assessment, English test result and family. Treat the site as a way to get informed and ready, and then check how the rules apply to you personally.

2. Decisions are not ours

It is for employers to pick who is interviewed and hired and to set the start date. It is for the Australian and New Zealand governments to grant or refuse a visa and to set the pace. JobsAbroad Zimbabwe has no say in any of these.

That is why nothing here is a promise. An application sent through the site is no assurance of an interview, offer, sponsorship or visa, and the experience of someone else, even a person with your background, is a poor predictor of your own.

3. What we are and are not

We cannot issue visas, and we are not a registered migration agent. Where your circumstances are complicated or the consequences are serious, consult a qualified professional who is licensed to advise.

4. Check the official source

Our visa guides summarise government pages and show an "as of" date. Because fees, salary thresholds, occupation lists and rules can alter quickly, a guide might be behind. Read the live official pages before you apply or pay anything:

5. Paperwork you collect in Zimbabwe

Employers and visa officers can ask for documents that only you can get while you are in Zimbabwe: an unexpired passport, a police certificate (here that means police clearance from the Criminal Record Office), certified copies of school, trade (ZIMSEC or HEXCO) or degree certificates, or confirmation that a qualification is authentic. Several can take weeks to arrive. JobsAbroad Zimbabwe does not issue or handle any of them and has no power to hurry them. Ask each issuing office for its current procedure, cost and timing, and be wary of anyone offering to skip the queue.

6. Pay figures and currency conversion

An advert's job title, duties, requirements and pay are the employer's, and may be revised. Wages are typically stated in Australian or New Zealand dollars, by the hour, week or year, before tax. If a figure has been converted to your own currency, treat it as approximate. What counts is the amount in a signed offer, which you should compare with living costs in the place where the job is, since these differ widely.

7. Four things to do before committing

  1. Match the "as of" date on our guide against the official page.
  2. Obtain the pay, hours and conditions from the employer in writing.
  3. Store copies of all documents and messages.
  4. Do not deal with anyone who guarantees you a job or visa.

8. Sites we link to

Government websites, YouTube, WhatsApp and the social networks are outside our control. So are Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au), Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and English test practice (practisenow.com), the other sites we link to, which publish their own terms and privacy policies. We do not endorse a site merely by linking to it.
