Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
Readers of JobsAbroad Zimbabwe (jobsabroad.co.zw) are entitled to know what we hold about them. The sections below cover the information we obtain, the route it takes to reach us, the purposes we put it to and the choices that remain yours. Legal jargon has been kept to a minimum.
1. Summary in four points
- Reading jobs and guides takes no registration. Visitors have no accounts and no login.
- Advertising has no place here. For visitor statistics we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, and both of them set cookies.
- A CV, a phone number or a message reaches us only if you decide to send it, whether through email or WhatsApp.
- You can ask us at any moment what we keep, request a correction, or ask for erasure.
2. The company in charge
Ownership and operation of the site lie with Red Migration FZC, a company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As data controller, it determines the way personal data on JobsAbroad Zimbabwe is used and is answerable for it.
Its contact points are jobs@jobsabroad.co.zw (email), +971 50 283 2394 (phone and WhatsApp) and 108, 6th Street, Al Hamriya, Bur Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (post).
3. Details you hand over yourself
Email applications
Pressing Apply by email on a vacancy brings you to our contact page. When you pick the email address shown there, your own mail app starts a fresh message to jobs@jobsabroad.co.zw. Nothing is sent by the website itself, and we hear nothing from you before you send the message.
You choose the content. People applying from Zimbabwe commonly attach or mention items such as:
- full name, mobile number and email address;
- a CV with employment history and the names of referees;
- school and trade certificates, for example ZIMSEC and HEXCO, a degree or other qualifications;
- a copy of a passport or visa, where you choose to include one.
WhatsApp conversations
With Ask on WhatsApp you start a one-to-one chat with our team. The moment you message us, your phone number and WhatsApp profile name are visible to us, along with every message, file, picture or voice note you send.
The vacancy channel
Our WhatsApp channel only pushes announcements of new jobs. A follower does not start a chat with us by following it. WhatsApp and Meta, its parent company, operate the channel under their own privacy terms.
Telephone and post
When you ring or write, all we learn is what you say or put on paper. The contact page lists each option, and it has no web form on purpose.
4. Records made without your input
A visit to the site generates some technical records. For each request Google Cloud keeps a log line showing the IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time, and deletes it after 30 days.
The server additionally counts requests coming from each IP address, in memory only, so that no single source can swamp the site. These two records serve to diagnose faults and to stop abuse. They are not used to work out who you are.
5. Counting visits
To learn which pages help people and at what point they leave, JobsAbroad Zimbabwe runs Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation).
Gathered: pages viewed, depth of scrolling, links and buttons pressed, plus the device, browser and country of the visit. Cookies and comparable technologies underpin both tools. Clarity adds heatmaps and session replays built from clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and masks whatever is typed into form fields. Microsoft may also use the data for advertising purposes, as its Microsoft Privacy Statement explains.
Kept out of the tools: names, email addresses and anything typed into a form. The search box is the single exception, because a job or trade you search for goes to Google Analytics as a search term. Google Analytics advertising features are turned off.
Read more: Google's privacy policy, the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Each cookie is listed in the Cookie Policy.
6. Data we deliberately avoid
Searching and filtering jobs happens in the browser and the address bar, so our database never sees what you searched for. Apart from a timestamp that lets a page reload smoothly after an update, our code puts nothing on your device. Typefaces are delivered by Google Fonts, and a YouTube video is requested from youtube-nocookie.com only if you tap it. Details are in the Cookie Policy.
Visitors have no login at all. The only one is on a hidden admin page where staff publish jobs and articles. It uses Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and turns away anybody whose email address is missing from the staff list.
7. Purposes
- Checking your experience and documents against the job you selected.
- Passing your application to the employer behind that job.
- Replying on the same channel you used to write to us.
- Arranging the next step, such as an interview or more paperwork.
- Protecting the security and availability of the site by means of logs and request limits.
- Meeting legal obligations placed on us.
We do not use what you send for advertising or profiling, and none of it goes to the analytics tools.
8. Legal grounds
Data protection law asks us to explain on what basis we may handle your data. We rely on:
- consent that you give when you get in touch, and can take back whenever you want;
- steps ahead of a contract, as dealing with your application takes you closer to the job you enquired about;
- legitimate interests, that is, a secure and working website;
- legal obligation, in cases where the law makes us keep or hand over something.
9. Recipients
Access is limited to the following, each with a genuine need:
- our team members, who read and answer your messages;
- the employer that placed the job you applied for, in most cases in Australia or New Zealand (a different employer only if you agree);
- Google Cloud, which runs our web server (Cloud Run), database (Cloud Firestore), logs and staff login; the database holds published jobs, guides and videos, and no files from visitors;
- our email provider, which delivers and stores what arrives at jobs@jobsabroad.co.zw;
- WhatsApp (Meta), which carries the chats and the vacancy channel;
- courts, police and other authorities, solely where the law compels us.
10. Hosting location and transfers abroad
Google Cloud hosts our web server and database in Belgium (European Union). The company behind the site is in the UAE, while the employers are largely in Australia or New Zealand, and our email provider, Google and Meta may also handle data elsewhere.
So an application from Zimbabwe may travel through several legal systems with differing privacy rules. If a transfer abroad calls for safeguards, we depend on the contractual and security protections that our providers apply, and each party in the chain gets only what it requires.
11. Retention periods
Emails and chats are kept while your application, any hiring that results from it, or a legal duty makes that necessary, and no fixed term applies. On request we erase them, unless the law requires us to retain a record. Server logs go after 30 days, and request counts remain in memory for a few minutes at most.
12. Safeguards
Connections are always over HTTPS, and HSTS instructs browsers not to fall back to an unencrypted link. The database sits out of reach of the internet and answers only to our server. Only approved staff can enter the admin page, and request limits hinder bots and attempts to guess passwords.
Absolute security does not exist online. Please keep your passport copies to yourself until an employer or our team has a real need for them.
13. Your rights
As a rule you can request a copy of your data, its correction or erasure, a limit on how it is used, or you can object to certain uses. Which of these rights you hold depends on where you live and on the law that applies to the data.
UAE. Since Red Migration FZC is established in the UAE, the UAE federal personal data protection law applies where it is relevant. It grants rights to access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability.
Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwe Cyber and Data Protection Act 2021 is respected by us where it applies. Residents of Zimbabwe who are dissatisfied with our handling of their data should raise it with us first, and may also be able to complain to the data protection authority in Zimbabwe.
Everywhere else. Australia, New Zealand and many further countries have privacy laws that give comparable rights. Name the one you want applied and we will follow it.
14. Exercising your rights
Send an email to jobs@jobsabroad.co.zw describing what you want us to do. Because your data must not reach the wrong person, we may ask you to prove your identity first. A reply will come within the period the law sets. Where part of a request cannot be met, because a record has to be retained for instance, we will give the reason.
15. Minors
JobsAbroad Zimbabwe is intended for job seekers who are 18 or older. Should you learn that a younger person has sent us details about themselves, let us know and we will erase them.
16. External websites
Pages on this site link out to WhatsApp, YouTube, social networks and official government websites. Further links in the footer lead to Skills Assessment Australia (rpldirect.com.au), Build AI CV (buildaicv.com), Talent Tabloid (talenttabloid.com) and English test practice (practisenow.com). Their own policies govern what happens once you are on them, so check before you give personal details.
17. Revisions to this policy
New features, new providers or changes in law can make a revision necessary. We then change the date at the top, and the wording on this page always represents the current version.
