Key Responsibilities
- Install the floor coverings you specialise in, whether sheet vinyl, LVT and other resilient types (including welding and coving) or carpet and carpet tiles
- Prepare subfloors by grinding, levelling, priming and patching
- Test moisture and flatness before installation and record the results
- Read finishes schedules and drawings, measuring and setting out accurately
- Work alongside the other trades and the builder's site team to keep the job on programme
- Check, store and protect materials on site, keeping waste to a minimum
- Complete timesheets, photo records, day-to-day reports and quality checklists, and follow all site safety rules, inductions and safe work method statements
Requirements & Eligibility
- Attention to detail that is good
- Reliability and sound communication in English on site
- A driver's licence valid in Australia
- A WA White Card, or the ability to get one before starting
- A floor covering trade qualification, for example a Certificate III in Flooring Technology, or an equivalent overseas qualification or experience (preferred, not required)
- Skills in at least one trade: vinyl installation, subfloor preparation or carpet installation
- At least 3 years of commercial flooring experience, in Australia or overseas
