Machines, people and output are the three things the Production / Site Manager looks after at a country site some two hours from Perth. The employer is a national manufacturer that leads its industry, wants someone practical from a manufacturing or mechanical background, and gives the manager real autonomy with senior support from the East Coast.
Day to day it is boots on the ground, with a heavy emphasis on machinery, and the person appointed must live close to the site from Monday to Friday at least. Sponsorship is not a barrier: the employer is open to applicants needing it, provided their skill set and experience are adequate and their communication is strong.

Key Responsibilities
- Run output and the flow of work, with safety first
- Cultivate local suppliers and contacts and work with external contractors for maintenance and transport
- Deal with staffing and rosters
- Take part in decisions on upgrades and processes
- Manage quality and inventory
- Diagnose equipment problems, call in outside suppliers when appropriate, and communicate with stakeholders so the team stays productive
Requirements & Eligibility
- Mechanical or fitting experience, with qualifications preferred
- Earlier leadership in production environments, including understanding of machine maintenance and preventative schedules
- Ability to spot bottlenecks and plan production
- Can work with skilled and unskilled workers; inventory control and an understanding of logistics
- Organised, safety-first and a strong communicator who motivates people
- Comfortable with software for administrative and system functions
- Happy to live in a rural location at least Monday to Friday
