A Christchurch home run by an innovative dementia care specialist is hiring a permanent full-time Caregiver. Its care settings are small and homely, the team is close-knit, and mentoring and training are strong. The week is at least 30 hours on a 24/7 roster, and level decides the hourly rate, which runs from $23.95 at Level 1 to $28.25 at Level 4 and above. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic personal care that is culturally safe, from showering and dressing to eating, mobility and communication
- Assist with care planning and follow therapy plans for residents living with dementia
- Monitor residents, report their progress and any change or concern without delay, and keep records up to date
- Support registered nurses within your scope of practice
Requirements & Eligibility
- A real commitment to improving elderly people's lives with kindness and empathy
- A passion for aged care and the ability to work any shift across a 24/7 roster
- Previous caregiving experience preferred; dementia care experience a strong advantage
- For visa support: a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 4+ caregiving qualification with an International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
