A family-owned flooring company in Auckland, linked to a national network, is hiring, and it holds Accredited Employer status, so it can sponsor migrant workers. Its good name depends on careful workmanship and on the way it treats customers and staff, and it wants a carpet layer with proven experience for the long term.
Each day begins at the same base. The work is installing carpet in homes and commercial premises for this store and its sister store, taking every job from bare floor to a tidy finish. Expect Monday to Friday plus a couple of Saturdays a month. An apprentice is part of the crew, and you would be glad to pass on what you know.

Key Responsibilities
- Install carpet across residential and commercial jobs
- Take each job from bare floor to a tidy finish
- Do floor prep and uplift, and install to industry and manufacturer standards
- Run your own jobs and deal courteously with customers in their homes
- Mentor and support an apprentice on the tools
- Work from a single base each day
Requirements & Eligibility
- A minimum of 3 years' carpet laying experience, with strong experience of textured and wool carpets
- Confidence with floor prep, uplift and installing to industry and manufacturer standards
- Pride in your work and a high standard of finish
- Reliable, organised and able to run your own jobs
- Polite and professional with customers in their homes
- Willing to mentor and support an apprentice, and available for a couple of Saturdays a month
- Full NZ driver licence
