Key Responsibilities
- Service and look after heavy diesel trucks and semi-trailers through scheduled, preventative maintenance
- Repair mechanical, electrical, braking and suspension faults after diagnosing them
- Repair air brake systems and axles
- Repair wheel bearings, landing legs and other trailer components
- Inspect for safety, keep to NHVR compliance and complete maintenance records and job reports
- Keep workmanship high while working efficiently
Requirements & Eligibility
- A Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification, or equivalent
- Time spent working on heavy vehicles and trailers, including air brake systems and trailer maintenance
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- The ability to work independently as well as within a team
- An advantage: an HC/MC driver's licence
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to safety
