Residence sponsorship, temporary or permanent, is available for the right candidate in this General Practice Registered Nurse position near Newcastle. The practice is hiring full-time and permanently.
General practice experience is preferable, but the right candidate will be trained on the job. The nurse would manage a varied clinical day, from triage and wound care to testing and infusions, and from stock and cold chain checks to reminders for patients who are due back.

Key Responsibilities
- Deal with patients and phones when required
- Triage patients
- Prepare chronic disease management plans and health assessments
- Operate the recall and reminder system
- Manage stock control, ordering and the cold chain
- Perform ECG and spirometry testing
- Perform IV procedures: iron infusions and venesections
- Care for wounds and give immunisations, childhood immunisations included
- Assist with minor procedures and look after practice equipment, supporting general practitioners and other staff when required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Current unconditional registration with AHPRA
- Current immunisations certificate, or willingness to do the training
- CPR certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
- Good work ethic, plus organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, and in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in general practice is preferable
