Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Clinical Manager to lead care staff and keep care safe, effective and appropriate
- Plan care with residents, families, colleagues and the multidisciplinary team after a full assessment of needs
- Check that outcomes match care plans and safe working practices
- Give person-centred individual care that protects dignity and privacy and builds independence
- Monitor each resident, report changes and act
- Roll out initiatives that maintain or improve quality of care and quality of life
- Speak up for residents so they can make informed choices
- Gather assessment and care information for the funding claim process
- Hand over resident issues at shift change to colleagues and other registered nurses, keeping confidentiality and respect
- Keep medication, infection control and Work Health and Safety practice safe
- Take part in accreditation audits and keep activities compliant
Requirements & Eligibility
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (essential)
- Relevant Registered Nurse experience, preferably in aged care
- Multidisciplinary team experience in an aged care setting
- Knowledge of aged care sector issues and accreditation standards
- Ability to lead, delegate well and contribute to positive care outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication, with sound problem-solving and organisational skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and basic to intermediate computer skills
