In Tauranga, a disability support service is adding a Support Worker / Life Facilitator to the 24/7 team around a client with tetraplegia. The client is highly motivated, stays active and engaged and has full-time commitments. The worker does more than provide care. Alongside the wider team you share in daily life with personal cares, daily activities and companionship, and you drive and accompany the client so work and family commitments are met, with some travel.
The contract is full time. You would work rostered day shifts, 7 am to 5 pm, and night shifts, 5 pm to 7 am with a sleepover period, totalling about 35 hours a week or more over roughly 2 to 4 shifts, and 2 weekend shifts a month. The client and team train you. The employer holds accredited status and job tokens, so it can support an AEWV work visa through sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Offer personal cares and companionship, and support the client's daily activities

- Help organise the 24/7 roster with the team
Requirements & Eligibility
- Working towards an NZQA qualification in health and wellbeing, Level 3 or higher
- Good grasp of 24/7 roster coordination
- Hands-on training experience tied to a care plan and job description
- Professional, honest, trustworthy and reliable, a good communicator who copes with changing needs
- Initiative, common sense and a positive attitude
- A driver licence and a high level of English
- Strong availability: afternoons, evenings, sleepovers and 2 weekend shifts a month
