This Sous Chef role is at a busy Gold Coast café with a high-volume kitchen. The café wants an experienced, motivated person to join the Head Chef and another Sous Chef in running daily operations, leading busy services and keeping food and kitchen standards high.
The role is a fit for an experienced Sous Chef, or for a strong senior chef prepared to step up. Sponsorship is something the employer will consider for the right candidate, provided they have experience in a similar role and pass a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities
- Back up the kitchen team and lead through the busiest moments
- Run the kitchen day to day alongside the Head Chef and the other Sous Chef
- Plan prep and sections and keep operations organised
- Keep dishes consistent, well presented and good quality
- Hold food safety, cleanliness and kitchen standards in place
- Coach and support staff
- Own the kitchen when needed and add to a positive, organised, professional culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- A good deal of time in a busy, high-volume café or comparable kitchen
- Past work as a Sous Chef, senior chef or supervisor
- Self-assured leading a team
- Self-assured running a busy service
- Well organised and communicates clearly
- Dependable, cool under pressure and ready to own the job
- Hands-on and glad to work beside the team
- Solid understanding of food quality and consistency
- Available 5 days per week, including Saturday and Sunday
